Mexican show set to hit Amazon from Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer – Deadline

Boys The universe is expanding again with Boys: Mexico, New sub-series of Blue beetle Deadline has learned by Gareth Dunnett Alcocer. Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal are set to executive produce and are considering acting roles despite no lead roles, sources exclusively told Deadline.

Details regarding the hypothesis are being kept secret.

A search is currently underway for a showrunner to join creator, writer and executive producer Dunnet-Alcocer, who is now working on the script. The team behind Boys: Mexico, The sources said that the series, which will be filmed in the Latin American country, is working on the budgets for the new series and they have not yet begun selecting the actors.

The Mexico branch comes from the main creative sponsorship behind the other series Boys Franchise and mothership developer Eric Kripke and his company Kripke Enterprises, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Point Gray Pictures, Neal H. Moritz Original Film, Sony Pictures Television, and Amazon MGM Studios. Lorelei Alba is expected to oversee Point Gray.

After the successful penetration Boyswhich is heading into a fourth season, two spin-off series released in 2023: Animation Boys Presents: Satanicwhich premiered in March, and the spinoff series set in college Fifth GenWhich recently ended its first season and was renewed for a second season.

Boys: Mexico is the latest project to hail from rising star Dunnet-Alcocer, who wrote the screenplay for the Warner Bros. superhero film. Pictures/DC Studios, Blue beetle. Most recently, he wrote the script for Sony El Muerto From director Jonas Cuaron. The Queretaro, Mexico native also wrote and executive produced Miss Bala in 2019. Additionally, Dunnet-Alcocer has been attached as screenwriter for Universal Pictures’ reimagining of Scarface. He is repped by WME and Redefine Entertainment.

Luna and García Bernal are two veteran actors whose careers exploded after they collaborated on the 2001 Spanish-language hit. Way to Mama Tampin Directed by Alfonso Cuarón. They have reunited several times since then including Rudo and Corsi (2008) and Casa de mi padre (2012).

Luna recently joined the Star Wars universe in a Disney+ TV series Andorintroduction to Star Wars: Rogue One. García Bernal recently starred in the Amazon biodrama Cassandro It depicts the titular gay wrestler born Saúl Armendáriz.

The longtime friends and collaborators became production partners in 2018 under the banner La Corriente del Golfo (The Gulf Stream). Recent projects he has produced include the aforementioned Cassandro And the series Pan and Circo Hosted by Luna, both for Amazon.
