New York Yankees get ready Anthony Rizzo On the injured list ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Minnesota Twins, the team will call in first baseman Ronald Guzman to replace him.
Aaron Boone, Yankees manager, said Rizzo had been dealing with headaches in recent days and had previously dealt with lingering comeback issues. Rizzo received an epidural to relieve the pain in his back, but the team isn’t sure if the headaches and the injections are connected.
“We don’t think so based on this, but he had a headache,” Boone said. “It’s hard to tell. I know some of the pictures and stuff were as good signs as they weren’t, but I think they’re trying to understand exactly why.”
Boone said Rizzo “can’t do much” now because of the headaches once he wakes up. Rizzo has fallen since the beginning of August, scoring .208/.299/.442, but he’s scored .225/.339/.493 overall with 30 Homer this season.
With Guzman not on the 40-player roster, the Yankees will need to make a similar move ahead of Wednesday’s games. In 90 games this season for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Rail Raiders, Guzman has netted .260/.357/.466 with 12 headers.
Boone also said player DJ Limaheu He’ll need some time off while dealing with the toe problem, adding that he wasn’t going to play in Tuesday’s game. Boone said LeMahieu’s toe injury affected his strength on the board and not something that would improve with a few days of rest. He will need time off season.

Severino said he hopes this will be his last appearance in rehab. Severino has stated on numerous occasions that he felt ready to come back and was not happy to be on the injury list for 60 days. In 16 starts this season, Severino has 3.45 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 86 runs displayed across 16 starts. –
