Following a record contract extension, Nick Bosa is a key part of the 49ers’ future for years to come.
But could he spend his entire career in red and gold? Bosa has no doubt thought about it.
In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated by Albert BreerBosa praised the 49ers organization while also hinting at a possible desire to spend his entire career with the team.
“My favorite part is I’m still with the Niners,” Bosa told Brier. “And that I will play most, perhaps all, of my career with this team. Not many people get to do that for such a great organization.
“There’s a lot of teams in this league that don’t care about their players as much as the Niners do. The fact that I’m going to be here for that long with this group of players is unbelievable. For them to believe in me, and invest so much in me, it’s like you have to hit the nail on the head.” Yourself: You feel a little bit of imposter syndrome at first.
The 49ers have been one of the most successful teams since Bosa entered the league, largely due to the contributions they received from the No. 2 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
They have reached at least the NFC Championship Game every season he has stayed healthy, and appear poised to make another deep run this year.
While the focus remains on winning for the time being, it’s an encouraging sign that Bosa can envision a future where he’s 49 for life.
