Patriots release 14 players

Foxborough, Massachusetts. The New England Patriots released 14 players today in anticipation of tomorrow’s mandatory roster cut to the 53-man maximum.

The Patriots released the following players: LS Tucker Addington, WR Kawaan Baker, DE William Bradley-King, DT Josiah Bronson, LB Steele Chambers, RB Deshaun Fenwick, CB Azizi Hearn, T Zuri Henry, DE Christian McCarroll, TE La’Michael Pettway, DT Sam Roberts, C Charles Turner, CB Mikey Victor, and TE Jacob Warren.

Addington27, was signed by New England on Aug. 5, 2024. He played in three games for New England during the 2022 season after being signed to the 53-man practice squad on Dec. 23, 2022, following a season-ending injury to LS Joe Cardona. The 6-foot-2, 230-pound senior went to training camp last season with New England but was released on Aug. 15. He signed with Jacksonville on Aug. 20 but was released on Aug. 29. Addington was signed to Washington’s practice squad on Dec. 19 and was signed to the 53-man roster on Dec. 30, seeing action in three games. Addington played college football at Sam Houston State and was signed by Dallas to the practice squad on Oct. 5, 2022 after playing for the Houston Gamblers of the USFL in 2022.

baker26, originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick (255th overall).D (Overall) by the New Orleans Saints in the 2021 NFL Draft out of South Alabama. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound player began his rookie season on the practice squad. Baker was promoted to the active roster for two games as a starter and saw action on special teams against Miami on Dec. 27, 2021, and against Carolina on Jan. 2, 2022. He also spent time on the practice squad in Green Bay and Philadelphia.

Bradley King The 26-year-old was signed by New England to join the practice squad on Oct. 18, 2023. The 6-foot-4, 265-pound player originally joined Washington as a seventh-round pick (240D Bradley King (first overall) was selected by Baylor in the 2021 NFL Draft. He spent parts of the past two seasons on Washington’s practice squad and 53-man roster, where he appeared in four games and recorded six total tackles. Bradley King spent the first month of the 2023 season on Washington’s practice squad before being released on Oct. 16.

Bronson27, spent the spring of 2024 playing for the UFL’s Memphis Showboats, starting in all 10 games and finishing the season with 12 total tackles and 1½ sacks. The 6-foot-3, 295-pound forward signed with New England on July 28, 2024. He has spent time in the NFL with New Orleans, Cleveland, Dallas and Miami. He originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with New Orleans on May 10, 2021, out of Washington.

RoomsChambers, 24, was declared off waivers by Detroit on June 11, 2024. He was originally signed by Detroit as a rookie free agent out of Ohio State on May 10, 2024. The 6-foot-1, 229-pound player was released by Detroit on June 10, 2024. Chambers began his college career as a linebacker before converting to a linebacker in the fall of 2021. He started 29 games at linebacker over the past three seasons in college.

HernThe 25-year-old was signed by New England to join the practice squad on September 21, 2023. The 6-foot-1, 204-pound player was originally signed by Las Vegas as a rookie free agent out of UCLA on May 12, 2023 and was released by the Raiders on August 29, 2023.

HenryThe 24-year-old originally signed with New England as a rookie free agent out of Texas-El Paso on May 10, 2024. The 6-foot-6, 310-pound player spent six seasons at UTEP, where he saw action at both left and right cornerback and started 36 of 53 games.

McCarrollThe 24-year-old was signed by New England as a free agent on August 20, 2024 from Grand Valley State. The 6-foot-2, 253-pound player played in 47 games during his college career and finished with 151 total tackles, 15 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries and 2 forced fumbles.

BetwayPettway, 27, was signed by New England to the 53-man practice squad roster on Jan. 6, 2024 after originally signing with the practice squad on Dec. 27, 2023. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound forward originally signed with Indianapolis as a free agent on Aug. 2, 2023 after spending the 2022 season with Michigan of the USFL and 2023 with Birmingham of the USFL. Pettway played college football at Iowa State.

Roberts26, originally joined New England as a sixth-round pick (200)D (Overall) 2022 NFL Draft pick out of Northwest Missouri State. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound senior has played in 12 games with one start over the past two seasons and recorded 7 total tackles.

VictorThe 24-year-old was signed by New England as a free agent out of Alabama on May 10, 2024. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound center began his college career at Ventura College and the University of Nevada Las Vegas before playing his final two seasons at Alabama. He finished the season with 55 total tackles, three interceptions and 21 passes defensed for Alabama.

WarrenNew England signed free agent Ronald Rickard, 24, on June 6, 2024. The 6-foot-6, 251-pound senior spent six seasons at Tennessee (2018-23) and was a starter for three seasons. He played in 54 games with 33 total starts and finished with 53 receptions for 607 yards and eight touchdowns.
