Pixel 9 leaks in pink [Gallery]

Ahead of its launch in a few weeks, more leaks about the Pixel 9 are helping to confirm what Google’s latest flagship series will offer. Now, some new images of the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL offer a clear look at the devices, including a pink color that doesn’t look as vibrant as previously shown.

on Twitter / X, Share Sudhanshu Ambur Two official images of the Pixel 9 and what is alleged to be the Pixel 9 Pro XL. It’s hard to know for sure since the Pixel 9 Pro and XL will look almost identical visually, but the device itself is larger compared to the image panel itself.

Anyway, the images shown here match up perfectly with the images Google officially released last week. The Pixel 9 Pro XL is shown in a “ceramic” color with a matte finish across the camera bar. The same goes for the regular Pixel 9, though this time it’s shown in pink.

Interestingly, both devices appear to have the same finish on the rear glass, though countless previous leaks have shown the base Pixel 9 to have a glossy back panel. However, that could just be a sketch. Google’s renders of the glossy Pixel 8 also appear matte until you see it from different angles.

The pink color pictured this time is darker than expected, after a hands-on leak last month showed the Pixel 9 with vibrant Pink. This new look is more realistic than we’ve come to expect from Google, but it could all be down to the lighting or the camera that’s taking the device’s photos.

This color also lines up with a previous leak of the Pixel Buds Pro 2, which said the earbuds would get a “Raspberry” color variant. Previously, codenames have identified the pink variant as “Peony,” but codenames don’t always match up with the final marketing names. For example, “Peony Rose” and “Jade” were used for the Pixel 8 series, but the final names for those colors ended up being “Rose” and “Mint.” So it’s entirely possible that the “Peony” Pixel 9 will be sold this year as “Raspberry.” But as with any leak, it’s hard to know for sure what’s exactly right.

Google is set to officially unveil the Pixel 9 series on August 13.
