Police shoot dead man suspected of plotting to set fire to synagogue in France

Interior Minister Gerald Dorman’s social media account posted on X that the gunman had been “neutralized”.

“This morning in Rouen, national police officers neutralized an armed man who wanted to set fire to the city’s synagogue. I congratulate them for their reaction and courage,” he wrote.

France’s interior ministry confirmed the suspect had been shot dead. No further details were provided.
