Prince William opted for a solo night out on Sunday while attending the 2024 BAFTA Awards at London's Royal Festival Hall.
As president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts since 2010, Prince William annually attends the awards ceremony, which is similar to the Oscars and celebrates the best film of the year.
This year, the heir attended the ceremony alone, but in the past he was joined by his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales. Catherine – known to many as Kate – was sidelined from her public-facing royal duties for several months while she recovered from abdominal surgery.
The Prince of Wales's presence at the lavish ceremony comes as the heir navigates a partial return to his public-facing role after taking a three-week break to care for his wife and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. .
Catherine is expected to return to public duties in April, according to a statement Kensington Palace sent to CNN at the time.
He returned to royal duties earlier this month as his father, King Charles III, receives treatment for cancer.
Buckingham Palace announced on February 6 that King Charles III had been diagnosed with an unknown type of cancer after undergoing corrective surgery for an enlarged prostate last month in a London hospital.
British actor David Tennant will host the BAFTA Awards on Sunday, which will be broadcast on BBC One at 2pm EDT/11am PDT.
