Hydra Radeon Monster File by 1usmus
Clock Tuner for Ryzen developer is working on an update to the latest tool called Hydra. For the first time, the program will provide optimizations for Radeon GPUs.
Yuri β1usmusβ Bubliy has developed a voltage/frequency curve optimizer for Radeon 6000 GPUs. It is said to unlock the maximum potential of the RDNA2 GPU by reducing operating voltage by up to 6%. In an example on the Radeon RX 6800XT, RMP can increase the frequency by 300MHz. This allows the card to outperform the RX 6900XT and RTX 3090 Ti in the 3DMark Time Spy test:
As mentioned, the profiles are universal and adaptable, however they are still in active development, and may show different results for different GPUs. What is particularly important to the work of RMP is an effective cooling solution. Therefore, custom forms are likely to show better results when using RMP.
These improvements can lead to better performance per dollar, but this comes at a higher cost of power consumption. The so-called “RMP 305” profile actually results in higher power consumption than the Radeon RX 6900XT.
An RMP update for Hydra should be released later this fall. The developer may also release updated Radeon Monster profiles for RDNA3 GPUs.

Autumn plans. You’ve already heard about my new calculator for DDR5 (demo coming soon), today it’s time to tell you about presets for RDNA2 video cards that might surprise you.
