If you’ve been dying for more iPhone 15 rumors, another round of renders has leaked out showing just about everything about the new phone. If you were hoping for something new, well, let’s just say we’ve hit the proverbial point on the rumor cycle.
Courtesy of “exclusive details from MFi accessory makers”, the latest renders from 9to5Mac aim to show Apple’s flagship phone from every angle, and although they don’t differ much from previous rumors and renders, they do show significant differences compared to the iPhone 14 Pro. But while we’ve learned a lot about the phone so far, it’ll be hard to really feel the changes until we see the phone in person. We even got a “real-world” look at the device courtesy of a mock-up, but again it’s hard to get a real idea of how different it would be.
Refined design
For the first time, the iPhone 15 Pro is said to be made with a titanium frame instead of stainless steel. This should reduce the weight of the phone and give it a more matte finish than glossy. It will reportedly have slightly rounded edges, giving it a “noticeable in-hand upgrade” without drastically changing the overall look or feel of the device. The iPhone has pretty sharp edges since the iPhone 12, so we’re very interested in holding the iPhone 15 Pro for the first time.
According to 9to5Mac, the iPhone 15 Pro will be slightly smaller than the iPhone 14 Pro:
- iPhone 15 Pro: 70.5 x 146.5 x 8.24 mm
- iPhone 14 Pro: 71.5 x 147.5 x 7.85 mm
The new color for the iPhone 15 Pro is said to be “deep red,” which will replace Deep Purple alongside white, black, and gold. The colors of the Apple Pro are hard to capture in photos and we can’t wait to see what the first red Apple model will look like in person.
Thinner edges
The iPhone 15 Pro will have the same 6.1-inch screen as the iPhone 14 Pro, but will look much larger thanks to dramatically reduced bezels. According to the CAD drawings, the iPhone 15 Pro will have the smallest bezels ever in a smartphone — just 1.55 mm, which is a reduction of nearly 25 percent compared to the iPhone 14 Pro. Edges are hard to picture in photos and we can’t wait to see how close the screen actually is to the edges of the phone.

Solid state buttons
As mentioned earlier, Apple will remove all physical buttons from the iPhone 15 Pro, and switch volume and power to solid-state buttons that use haptic drivers to simulate pressing. For the first time, the mute switch will become a solid-state button as well and is rumored to gain additional features such as the action button for the Apple Watch Ultra. After clicking iPhone buttons for 15 years, we wonder if Apple can really trick our brains into believing the buttons are the same — and if we’ll accidentally unmute our phones when we take them out of our pockets.
bigger camera
The iPhone 14 Pro has a very large camera system, but the iPhone 15 Pro will be even bigger. According to a recent 9to5Mac report, the camera bump will be larger, and “the single lens bump has doubled.” It’s not clear why the cameras are so much larger since the iPhone 15 Pro will have the same wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto lenses, but it’s likely due to sensor and other hardware upgrades. The iPhone camera bump has grown steadily over the years, but doubling down on the current bump seems excessive.
Switch to USB-C
As we’ve heard many times, the iPhone 15 Pro will switch from Lightning to USB-C to comply with the new EU law. It has been reported that Apple will offer fast charging, but it will be limited to MFi cables and chargers. No matter how similar the two cables are, it would certainly be strange to see an iPhone without Lightning for the first time in 10 years.
There’s still five months left until Apple releases the iPhone 15, so we’ll track down the rest of the rumors as they continue to surface. Be sure to bookmark our iPhone 15 hub to stay updated.
