Czech police in Vysosina are investigating the rape of a six-year-old girl. The crime took place in a shopping center in Iklava in the south of the Czech Republic. Police arrested the suspect and took him to jail.
According to Czech portal tn.nova, the six-year-old girl was shopping with her father on Friday when at one point she wanted to go to the bathroom.
The 40-year-old man – a family friend who was with them at the mall – allegedly entered the room and sexually assaulted the six-year-old girl while her father was waiting for her in another part of the building.
The girl's mother is completely shaken by the incident. – What happened to the child was terrible – she told Nova TV.
– The case of serious crime is handled by the regional criminal police, said Dana Chirtkova, a police spokeswoman from Vysosina (the country's provincial equivalent).
Police immediately arrested the suspect on the spot. According to Czech TV, he may have been drunk or under the influence of drugs when he committed the crime.
– Investigators accused the suspect of this crime of rape and he was arrested on Sunday – the spokesman explained. – Since this action concerns a minor, we cannot provide any further information on this matter – Sirtkova added.
The girl is under the supervision of a child psychologist.
