The Polish authorities seized a school building near the Russian embassy that served the children of diplomats.

Moscow criticized in Poland After the authorities seized a secondary school near Russia’s embassy in Warsaw, promising a “harsh response” to the detention they claimed was a flagrant violation of international conventions.
It was a multi-storey building in the 70s, which served the children of diplomats Warsaw locals dubbed it the “Spy Nest”.said Lukasz Jasina, a spokesman for the Polish Foreign Ministry, who said the move was approved by the court.
Jasina said that Moscow could protest against the move, but that the Polish authorities acted within the limits of the law.
“Our opinion, confirmed by the courts, is that these properties belong to the Polish state and have been illegally seized by Russia,” he said.
Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nuba rip as “hostile” and in violation of the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. The move was also seen as an encroachment on Russian diplomatic property in Poland.
“Such an impudent step on the part of Warsaw, which goes beyond the framework of civilized relations between states, will not remain without reaction and harsh consequences for the Polish authorities and Polish interests in Russia,” the statement said.
The school confiscation comes amid growing tension in relations between Moscow and Warsaw, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Warsaw positioned itself as one of the main allies of Kiev, having played a decisive role in persuading other countries to supply heavy weapons to Ukraine.
In March 2022, Poland said it had ordered the expulsion of 45 Russian diplomats believed to be intelligence officers.
