Samuel L Jackson is going viral for his reaction after losing the Tony

Samuel L. Jackson may not have won a Tony, but his face after losing won the internet.

The 74-year-old actor was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play at the 76th Annual Tony Awards for his role in “The Piano Lesson,” directed by his wife, LaTanya Richardson.

But when Jackson lost to Brandon Uranowitz – who won for his role in “Leopoldstadt” – viewers noticed Jackson’s not-so-happy reaction.

The “Pulp Fiction” actor seemed let down, and seemed to make a bit of an impression — and fans quickly turned his reaction into an online meme.

Samuel L. Jackson doesn’t have a good face other than a winner. I’m sure his eye roll would be a meme, one person right and expect.

“Samuel L. Jackson’s face takes me out for a reason,” and another added With a laughing emoji.

One person comparison Jackson’s real-life face to the face of a fictional Marvel character: “Samuel L. Jackson looked like Nick Fury after realizing he didn’t win his class.”

Someone said, “Samuel Jackson didn’t look happy.” booksadding a laughing emoji.

“Watching Tonys and SLJ No Featured Actor Award for Piano Lesson. You could tell he was disappointed,” another pointed out.

While his disappointed face is now officially a meme, some fans have also sympathized with the actor.

Someone wrote, “Ooooo Samuel L. Jackson.”

“Samuel Jackson lost, I actually hate it here,” another added comment.

Uranowitz, 36, was one of the first big winners of the night, and the award was his first Tony win and fourth nomination.

He joked that “impostor syndrome flares up” during his emotional acceptance speech in which he spoke of anti-Semitism and the “false promise of integration” – two topics that Leopoldstadt touched upon.
