A future PS5 update has been revealed, where the “Game Help” section in the system interface will be significantly expanded. The new “Community Game Help” is exactly what it sounds like: players will be able to refer to gameplay clips from other users when they're stuck on certain in-game objectives, challenges, or trophies.
Currently, some select games on PS5 offer developer-created hints, which can be viewed by bringing up the card interface. It's not clear how popular this help system is, but we know that a lot of games don't support it, and you need to PS Plus Subscriber to see it anyway.
So, Community Game Help will add user-created videos, which will obviously be moderated before being released to the public. Sony says that community clips will be available for everyone to see, even if they don't subscribe to PS Plus, but again, only “select” games will support this new effort.
So how do you participate? Well, according to Sony, it's all automatic. “Your PS5 will automatically capture a video when you complete a certain activity in a game.” It is then uploaded in the background, stripped of any audio recordings, approved, and made freely available for everyone to use. You'll also be able to follow clips that have been published successfully.
At this point, it's worth noting that you have to sign up for this thing before Sony can start picking up your gameplay clips. “go to [Captures & Broadcasts] >[Captures] > [Auto Captures] > [Community Game Help]then select [Participate] “To participate in the program,” Sony explains. It is clear that this option will appear “in the coming months.”
It's an interesting addition, and we're sure a lot of players will gladly try to help others by letting their gameplay be shared. But what do you think about this? Give a shout out to your fellow players in the comments section below.
