The war in Ukraine is full of events that, until recently, many would have considered fantasy. The group included an allegation that a Ukrainian tank in the jungle fired a cannon at Russian trenches from several dozen meters. We explain the reasons for this action.
An interesting post appeared on the Internet from the area of the village of Sinkivka, which the Russians tried to capture in recent weeks, suffering heavy losses. The recording below shows a lone T-72 tank of the 60th Mechanized Brigade, its crew destroying Russian trenches based on drone data.
It should also be noted that standard fragmentation grenades are not always effective, because trenches provide good protection against them, which is why Ukrainian crews can be seen firing multiple times at a target. The situation is different with modern programmable ammunition that explodes in the air at a certain distance, where one bullet can replace many conventional ones.

The T-72 tank is the most widely produced main battle tank in the world
T-72 tanks were introduced into service in 1973 and became the most popular tank in the world. At the time of its creation, it was a revolution, its weight was about 40 tons, a powerful cannon, a low profile of 2.2 m and good mobility, but this was achieved. Using an automatic loading device, its failure guarantees a spectacular explosion and the death of the crew.
The problem persists to this day and cannot be changed due to its design. For this reason, the changes over the decades were mainly based on improving the armor, among others, ERA Kontakt-1 cubes, new Kontakt-5 or Relikt double-layer covers were installed on T-90M and T-72B3M tanks.
The second direction is the modernization of the fire control system, first adding night vision and in recent years thermal imaging. We are talking here, for example, about Russian T-72B3 tanks, Ukrainian T-72 AMT or Polish T-72M1R or PT-91 Twardy. In addition, the rifle and ammunition magazines were modified to use longer projectiles.
