Mercedes-AMG presented its latest concept, the Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed, during an exclusive premiere at the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Monaco. This stunning vehicle offers a glimpse into the upcoming Mythos series, a highly exclusive line from Mercedes-Benz.
The PureSpeed is a significant departure from traditional styling, featuring a completely open two-seat configuration with no roof or windshield. This bold design pays tribute to legendary race cars and delivers a direct and immersive driving experience. The concept was unveiled on a pontoon in the port of Monaco, captivating attendees, including Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.
“The Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed Concept offers a glimpse of what may be the most direct way to experience performance and driving pleasure,” said Michael Scheppie, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, adding: “Radically open, there is no roof and no glass partitions.” Front-riders from the elements You can experience light, air and emotion unfiltered with all your senses.
Limited to just 250 units, the PureSpeed is designed for dedicated Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts and collectors. The concept combines cutting-edge materials and technology with design elements reminiscent of the Mercedes-AMG ONE supercar. Notable features include the HALO safety system, which replaces the traditional A-pillar and enhances safety and aerodynamics, and specially designed helmets for a Formula 1-like field of vision.
The aesthetics of the car are inspired by famous Mercedes racing models. The eye-catching paint color transitions from Le Mans red to graphite grey, with a black AMG pattern, echoing the Mercedes victor in the 1924 Targa Florio. Design elements such as muscular rear shoulders and carbon fiber wheel covers enhance Performance and style.
Although pricing details have not been shared at the time of writing, the limited edition is expected to make its official debut sometime next year, as part of the upcoming Mythos series.
