An Overwatch 2 player shared a “sweet” moment between two Reaper players who stopped fighting and “fell in love” during the Pride event.

Overwatch 2 has just started its official Pride event, which kicks off on June 1, 2023. During the Pride event, players can see minor changes to the Midtown map along with new player icons, name cards, and a short story.

Although the event marked the first time that Pride Month was officially featured in the game, some members of the LGBTQ+ community were let down by the event. However, that didn’t stop everyone from appreciating the gesture nonetheless.

The Twin Reapers met on the battlefield before Gariber wrote, “Listen to me. I’m ready to die for you. You know who you are,” an apparent reference to his Reaper counterpart.

However, some were curious if the duo’s teammates weren’t upset about losing two players during the match. The OP said, “Yeah, that was just a quick play and we were fully stacked so I’m assuming the other team was or very close to being a full stack.”

Overall, the community seems to have enjoyed seeing this example of casual fun rather than the “sweaty” nature of typical Overwatch 2 rivalry. Hopefully, other players will get out there and join in some casual fun for the remainder of the game’s Pride event.
