It’s been an interesting year for Lacey Evans.
She made her comeback after more than a year with a series of videos Dating the hardships of real life I experienced going to WWE. those that were broadcast SmackDown, but then it was moved to Raw. No televised matches worked on the red brand, and when they did appear live in the arena they did heel. In the end, it was Again on Friday nights On her way to work in July Money in the bank.
Long believed to be a favorite of former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, she disappeared again after Triple H took over creative responsibility. Since then, she’s acted in three TV shows – two of them Multiperson #1 Competitor Affairs It seemed like she was just there to fill out the lineup.
Then last night (Dec 2) on SmackDownWell, we got this…
Jokes about how often WWE has changed its mind about Evans aside, this looks like they’ve finally come up with the right trick for her. As attention-grabbing as “Sassy Southern Belle” was (there was always a debate as to whether she was a “go away” group, but she did get a pushback), it never quite fit into her actual backstory as a member of the United States Marine Corps. This seems to blend the arrogance of her more popular character with Lassie’s legitimate reason to believe she is better than her competition.
She’s also aware that Evans’ on-screen history will make for a tough face, no matter how moving her actual story is. It’s very clear that referring to the rest of the women’s roster as “whiners and weaklings” is a line that puts you in the villain’s video package.
Unless they change their minds again with Lacy’s Back to Basics rollout still going…
