The new weapon of the Ukrainians. The first battle trial took everyone by surprise

In January 2024, we received information about a new weapon in the arsenal of the Ukrainian army.. This news was later confirmed by the command. Despite a delay of more than a year, the powerful missiles that the Ukrainian military really believed in finally arrived at the front.

These are GLSDB-type bombs – guided missiles, which are a relatively new project. It integrates pre-existing SDB surface-to-air missiles and M26 rocket drives.

Their flight radius is 150 km and they have a margin of error when it comes to accuracy. Hit (both stationary targets and moving objects) is only 1 meter. Advantage of GLSDB and cost – SDB bombs have been mass-produced since 2006 and can use HIMARS and M270 bombs available in Ukraine as propellants.

The first tests of this technology were overseen by American Boeing and Swedish Saab, just happened in 2015. Therefore, it is still a young type of weapon. The Ukrainians, who were very young, were the first in the world to have the opportunity to test it in combat mode.

Igor Sushko reported the first results of using GLSDB on the X platform (formerly Twitter). – An American racing driver from Ukraine who founded the “Wind of Change” think tank after the end of his career and the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

He was the one who published the record of the first confirmed attack using the GLSTP missile, and it must be admitted that the record shows the power of this weapon well. Immediately after impact the fireball, gigantic shock wave and thick clouds of smoke indicate that the power of this weapon is truly remarkable.
