The changes come as Sweden's right-wing government abandons ambitious climate plans to drastically cut CO2 emissions in the transport sector – by 70%. 2010 to 2030. Instead, officials presented a plan of 70 actions in December that would “point the way to net zero emissions by 2045.” Nuclear power development and industrial and transport electrification should be key.

The high percentage of biomass components in fuel, which is increasing every year, was the boast of the governments of the Social Democrats and the Greens in 2014-22. However, as politicians from the right-wing Sweden Democrats asserted, the system fueled Sweden. “World's Most Expensive”. Biofuels are more expensive to produce than fossil fuels.

“Most expensive in the world.” The Swedes have trouble refueling

The Swedish government has reduced fuel taxes since January 1, which will make refueling even cheaper. On Tuesday, the price of a liter of diesel oil at gas stations dropped by approximately CZK 5 (PLN 2), and 95-octane gasoline by CZK 1.2 (PLN 50).

Politicians from the opposition parties – the Social Democrats, the Greens and representatives of the Center Party – announced that they would submit a motion of no confidence against Climate Minister Romina Bourmokhtari for obstructing the achievement of climate targets. The co-leader of the Green Party, Daniel Helden, lamented that Sweden is no longer a leading country in terms of climate policy and that the government has taken a big step backwards by reducing its biofuel content.
