The ‘vast majority’ of Diablo 4 players ‘have not finished the game yet’

Blizzard revealed that the “vast majority” of players had yet to complete Diablo IV.

That’s according to Diablo 4 game director Joe Shely, who confirmed in a recent fireside chat that while players may feel like they’re zipping through the story campaign, the reality is that most players take their time, albeit “playing through the content a lot more quickly.” .

“The vast majority of our players haven’t finished the game yet,” Shelley said in the livestreamed discussion. “But many of the people who watch this stream, and our dedicated players, play through the content more quickly and have had this situation with dungeons.”

As I spotted it computer gamesShelly mentions the last point in reference to Diablo 4’s nightmare dungeons, which proves to be exactly that – a nightmare to completion.

Thus, despite it being an end game activity, most players choose instead to grind in the regular side dungeons. This has prompted Blizzard to tone down the difficulty of the nightmare variant, as well as improve the XP bonuses in an effort to entice us away from the normal, easier dungeons.

Blizzard also recently sandboxed all dungeons in Diablo 4 to prevent players from farming XP and the hotfix, as of June 12th, is making “additional adjustments to elite monster density in dungeons.”

A note to the developers adds: “We’re working to standardize the density of elite monsters that spawn in dungeons to ensure that no particular dungeon is more efficient than another to get through.”
