81st Golden Globe Awards Ceremony
Joe Kooy has come under fire after his role as host at last night's Golden Globe Awards. After the party held on Sunday night. the view He discussed the show during the “Hot Topics” segment with Whoopi Goldberg and Sarah Haines to defend the comedian's talents.
Although Goldberg said she did not watch the awards ceremony, she shared a comment based on her experience as a host of such events.
“These hosting gigs are brutal,” Goldberg said. “If you don't know the room, if you've never been in these rooms before and you're pushed in there, it's a hit or miss.”
Goldberg continued: “I love Joe Coy, he makes me crazy because he's funny. I don't know if it was the room, I don't know if it was the jokes, I couldn't see it. But I know he's as good as he gets when it comes to stand-up, and that's not easy.” .
The ABC Daytime talk show host reminded her fellow hosts that “if you read any of the reviews of some of the gigs I've done where they wish me would go to the cornfields…it's not an easy gig.”

Ana Navarro jumped in and said she had seen the movie Golden balls “It wasn't funny to me,” Coy said.
Haines said she loved the comedian and was “nervous about him because I think he's very funny.” However, she said she was more bothered by people who didn't have a sense of humor about Coy's jokes on stage.
“We need to protect these national treasures called our comedians because life needs them. We need to stop associating them [and] “Their fence,” Haines continued. “In that room, Gu Kui is punching. No one feels sorry. Just smile.”

Alyssa Farrah Griffin agreed with Haines and said Coy was one of her favorite guests the view.
“I think he's a nice guy by nature, doing more roasting isn't something that comes naturally to him, whereas Ricky Gervais would come in and knock people down,” Griffin said, before adding that she thought Coy “got better as the night went on.”
Coy addressed criticism of his hosting gig at the Golden Globes, saying it was a “difficult room,” a “difficult task,” and a “difficult, difficult gig.”
