“This is what I looked like 35 years ago” – Deadline

Harrison Ford defends the de-aging operation he underwent for a flashback sequence Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. The fifth film, directed by James Mangold, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival where the star received a five-minute standing ovation.

“Technology has advanced to the point where it looks very realistic to me and I know that’s my face,” Ford said. “It’s not some kind of photoshop magic, that’s what it looked like 35 years ago because Lucasfilm has every frame of the movie we’ve made together over all these years. [use]…”

Ford continued, “It’s just a hoax unless it’s backed up by a story and sticks out like a sore thumb if it’s not sincere, it’s not real… I mean, emotionally real. And so I think it’s been used very subtly.”

The actor said he was “very happy” with the end result but didn’t look back and say, “I wish I could be that guy again,” adding, “I’m really happy with the age. I love being older. It was nice being young, but I might be dead, but I’m still working.”
