Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malar informed in a telegram about the current situation on the front.
“In the east, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are conducting defensive and counter-offensive operations. Here the enemy is trying to dislodge our troops from their positions by simultaneously conducting offensive operations in several directions, especially in the vicinity of Lyman.
“In the Pakhmut sector, the overall intensity of hostilities has slightly decreased. Our troops are carrying out offensive operations in some areas, occupying dominant hills and forest belts, gradually driving the enemy from the outskirts of Pakhmut,” Malar reported. The Russians “have considerable forces in Pakhmut, and additional units from other directions They continue to build by repositioning,” he added.
In the southern part of the front – in the Zaporizhia region and in the west of the Donetsk region – Ukrainian troops are “conducting active offensive operations in several directions at the same time,” Malar said.
“Our units are advancing in almost all areas and directions in the south and are tactically successful. (…) So far they have gone up to two kilometers in each direction. “The process of consolidating our army in some occupied positions and liberated settlements is underway,” Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister explained in a telegram.
“In the direction of Berdyansk and Mariupol, the enemy is increasing its firepower by drawing troops from other sectors of the front. In addition, our troops are still struggling to overcome landmines,” Malar concluded.
