Police have detained Kylie for questioning, AFP reported, citing an anonymous source.
In the EP, Kylie belongs to the group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats. The Greek daily “Kathimerini” reported that the MEP had been expelled from the Greek Socialist Party PASOK, to which he belonged, in connection with the ongoing investigation.
Earlier on Friday, the Belgian prosecutor’s office said it had opened an investigation into alleged corruption involving European Parliament aides and officials in an unnamed Gulf nation. The media reported that this country is Qatar.
