Russia’s Permanent Representative to the European Union, Vladimir Sisov, told the German daily Die Welt that there would be no attack next Wednesday. He also said there would be “no upgrades” next week, after this week or next month.
– Wars in Europe rarely start on Wednesdays – Sisov, who was responding to a question on whether his country would invade Ukraine on Wednesday (February 16), was bustling.
– Maybe this is not an adequate guarantee, but as far as Russia is concerned, I assure you that there will be no attack next Wednesday. There will be no increase next week, after this week or next month. Moreover, if our partners finally listen to our legitimate concerns, the prevention process will not take long to take place. This is in the interest of all Europeans, from Lisbon to Vladivostok, as well as all other countries in the world, when the ambassador argued that Russia was seeking evidence that it would attack Ukraine on Wednesday.

– If you make the accusation – especially the most serious allegations against Russia – you are responsible for providing evidence. Otherwise it is slander. This is what the legal tradition based on European civilization teaches. So where is this evidence? It seems to be in the same place as international law – the worst “world order based on rules” has been forgotten and changed. Russia has shown many times in its history what consequences await those who want to impose their “new order” on it, Chizhov warned.
