War in Ukraine
Russia launched a third wave of attacks on Avdiivka, increasing the number of attacks by 30%. Russian forces are much weaker this time than in the previous two attacks.
According to the US Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Russians say their troops continue to advance on the northern and southern sides of Avdiivka, and are advancing in the city’s industrial zone. At the same time, the Ukrainian General Staff insisted that any changes on the front on the Ukrainian and Russian sides were of a temporary nature. No army is ever victorious. ISW analysts said the Russians were preparing intensive infantry attacks in late October and throughout November to compensate for losses in heavy equipment.
