Microsoft’s multiplayer gaming and digital media network, Xbox Live, experienced technical issues on Tuesday as thousands of users reported problems accessing it.
Issues reported by users with Xbox Live began to spike around 2:15 p.m. ET on Tuesday, according to monitoring site Downdetector. As of 2:25 p.m., there were more than 23,000 outage reports logged on the site, with more than three-quarters of the reports citing problems logging in. Some Xbox Live users reported seeing an error message saying the service was undergoing “scheduled maintenance.”
Other Microsoft-run services, including Minecraft and the Microsoft Store, also saw a high level of user bug reports on Downdetector.
The official Xbox Support account posted on X at 2:55 p.m. ET, “We’re aware that some users have been disconnected from Xbox Live. We’re investigating!” The message directed users to Xbox status page – However, it indicated that there were no current issues. The page said “All services are up and running”. About 10 minutes ago, the Microsoft Flight Simulator support account was closed It was published. In X, “We’ve received reports of an Xbox Live service outage, affecting your ability to sign in to your Xbox account. You can follow the Xbox Live status for updates soon. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
